Finally Airtel is going to launch 4G in India. Earlier this month the Internet was abuzz with reports that telecom giant Bharti Airtel was going to launch its 4G services on March 20. Apparently, that didn’t happen. However, fresh round of rumours suggest 4G is still on Airtel’s cards and the company is likely to launch it in Kolkata circle in the first half of April.
However, till there is no further information has been released regarding the services. Sooner or later, other telecom corporations will launch 4G services, some guesses are:
- Reliance Infotel (22 circles)
- BSNL (20 circles)
- Aircel (8 circles)
- Tikona (5 circles)
- Qualcomm (4 circles)
- MTNL (2 circles)
- Augere (1 circle)
If we check the history, Kolkata was the first city to have mobile services (2G) in 1995, and today 2G is widely accepted. Can we see the same success with 4G if started with Kolkata?
