ISRO ( Indian Space Research Organisation ) a space agency has finally given the much awaited clearance for a project which will help us to surf net from trains, that too for free. This project which was proposed by the railways two years back involves using a satellite for the net from trains.

According to a Railway Official the agency has given clearance to use the KU band through which using net will be possible. This will be the first time when we will use internet in the moving trains that too without a data card. The work on the project will begin soon which will be handled by a mumbai based company.
Railways have sanctioned Rs. 6.30 Crores for this pilot project. Since its a pilot project i.e. a trial project it will be free for the passengers and also will first be tried in Howrah Rajdhani and if successful will be tried in other trains as well. It will work through custom based antennas that will be installed in coaches and then linked by wi-fi.
How it will work
There will be a procedure in which the passenger has to dial a number given by TTE, after which he/she will receive a password in the cell and the same will be used to avail the facility of internet through moving trains.
It will be a revolution in the IT as well as Railway history that will greatly help both the sectors to grow.
